snareing question
« on: December 09, 2005, 02:40:17 PM »
I got a few weeks before I can start snaring fox and coyote and I know where I want to set. I have a large frozen marsh with rat mounds and a beaver lodge on it and U can see all tracks from where the fox and yotes are running to check the huts. but theres almost no trees just clumps of grass so what would be the best way to anchor my snares?
total for this year so far
3 grinners
2 coyotes
4 coons and
1 skunk

 so far

Derek,go in ahead of setting.chop holes in the ice, where you will be setting and place your stakes so they freeze in.
With Michigans snaring regulations, you are going to have a devil of a time, holding onto fox,any yotes, will probably be devoid of any neck fur.
Your bobcat hunters ,put the fork into the trappers ,as far as snaring goes.
