25-35 with blackpowder

Hi,
Could someone please tell me if the 25-35 was originaly loaded with black powder?
I think I once heard that black is not so good in calibres under .30, is this so? I think it had something to do with cleaning difficulty or errosion or both.
If any one has had success with this round, could they say what load they used?
Glad to see that Winchester has brought out a new rifle for it.

Per "Cartridges of the World", 10th ed., Winchester introduced this round in 1894 & it was a White/Nitro Powder, 117 grn SP loading.

I have a .25-20 SS M1885 that is rather difficult to shoot w/ BP. Biggest problem is w/ fouling & the proper lube. I finally made a "safe queen" out of the rifle. I think the "Quarter Bore Corps" rounds really test your reloading & casting skills to the max, esp. w/ BP.
