Reloading WSM's

Wanted to reload for my new 270 wsm today I bought all the correct dies and shell holders. I soon realized that the cases would not fit into my Lee auto prime hand tool. Okay no problem I broke the old priming gear for my press.
Then when I went to dump powder My RCBS 22-45 cal funnel would not fit over the case properly without spilling powder  :x  
 guess I need some up dated equipment

You will need to rework the piece of the Auto-prime that contains the shellholder. About 10minutes with a stone in a Dremel tool worked for me.

My .325WSM shoots 195grain Hornady bullets in a short vetical rip with 64grains of IMR-4350.

Just curious, did you get shell holder #5 or #2?  The #5 is the correct one for the .270 WSM and the .270 Weatherby.  Mine works just fine is why I am asking.  I too had problems with my old powder funnel so I bought a "dtruders" Universal Powder Funnel Set.  that cured my problem.  Go to http://www.dtruders.com/powderfunnel.html for "dtruders".   Lawdog

The piece of the Lee Auto prime tool that holds the shellholder is narrower than the WSM cartridge is wide. The shellholder is the same one that is used for other belted cases.

I had to get the RCBS primer in order to reload for my 270 WSM.

As for the funnel, before I got another funnel, I had to use a straw at first because I had the same prob, powder spilling out....Got another funnel and that took care of it....IMPROVISE I DID>>>

I did use a number 5 shell holder which is the one they spec. I might give the dremel a try as I do not want to use another tool. Thanks for the link for the funnel set. In the mean time I took the dremel to and old 2219 aluminum arrow, it fit perfectly over the 270 case neck so improve I did also.

Others have suggested the dremel tool or slight filing of the Lee Auto Prime.  As for the funnel, I just filed off the bottom 1/16 of an inch or so of the funnel to allow the case mouth  to contact the underside of the funnel hole and it works fine.  Also still works fine for other calibers, too.  Looks a little cheesy, but then so does much of my equipment.  But it all works!

  i have the same priming tool and all you need to do is widen the sides where the case touches when you put it in the shell holder
it took all of 2 minutes with a dremel and i have primed several 300 wsm s with it

  as to the funnel mine is a mtm and all you need to do is hack off about 1/8 inch off the bottom of it and you are  in buisness

You should have it resolved.  Sounds like all of us are having the same problems.  I too had to use the dremel on the Lee priming tool.  I also had to buy special powder die for my dillon as the 243 wssm brass would not go up into a normal size powder die.
