Moly Bullets - How & When To Clean Bore?
« on: March 09, 2003, 04:50:55 AM »
I just started using moly coated bullets in my Hornet.  They shoot great!

I typically shoot two or three rounds in my Hornet daily -- mostly at crows.  How often should I clean my rifle?  Is it OK to let it sit a few days between shots?

Also, what is the best method for cleaning the bore after shooting moly bullets?

I am also working up some loads for cast bullets in this rifle.  What procedure should I follow to clean it after moly and before shooting cast bullets?  Also, after shooting cast bullets how should I clean it before shooting moly again?

By the way, after owning four different brands and models of Hornet rifles, I now have a Browing A-Bolt.  It shoots circles around anything I ever had before -- Including my Anschutz!

Thanks for your help,
George
