I have more .30 caliber rifles than I know what to do with in .308, '06, and 30-30. I primarily hunt whitetails and elk. I have been thinking of getting a predator rifle in .223, 22-250 or the like, however, I always read about the versatility of the .30's because you can get bullets from 110 gr. to 220 gr. If I could put together some accurate loads for the .30's with lighter bullets at higher velocity, etc. I'd like to give that a try first. I don't use my deer rifles enough anyway and with the variable scopes I think they should be good for varmints if the right loads can be found. I don't hear to much about the lighter bullet weight loads for the .30's.
Would appreciate any experience to share regarding using lighter bullets in the .30's. Thanks!
