Recommendation needed

Started looking to buy an air rifle, but getting overwhelmed. What are the good brands and models and calibers? Seems like under-levers and side-levers are the preferred. This purchase is NOT intended for competition, but I do want as reliable and accurate a gun as is available, for under $500. Thanks for any info, Mike.

On that price range you may get one of the best and more accurate springer underlever as are the Air Arms TX200 or the Weihrauch HW97, both excellent air rifles priced in the range of $460-$480 not incluiding scope or mounts.

they are better looking than I expected,
where can they be bought?

I like them both, do they both accept scopes mounts and rings (what should they be)?

Narrowed it down to the Air Arms TX200HC or Arm Arms Pro Sport.

Is the Pro Sport worth the extra $135-$140?

17 vs 22?

Beech vs Walnut?

Not in my book. Plus I like the safety the added length of the under lever on the TX200 MKIII offers. I hang on to the under lever during loading just to be safe. Don't want to loose a thumb by accident. :eek: Lawdog
