120 Gr Speer Soft Point followed by the 100 Gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip.
Been thinking of checking out those Barnes Bullets, but can't complain on how either of these two have put the stop to any thing that they have penatrated.

My 25-06 seems to love 100 grain bullets and 87 grains but dislikes 120 grains. I like to standardize so I shoot Hornady 100 grain SP with IMR 4350 which has given me my best groups so far and covers my intended shooting apps. Hope to do some field testing in the deer woods before the season closes up here.

My 25/06 Encore loves the 120gr Hp Sierra in front of 55gr H1000. 100gr Corelokt bullets work pretty good also in front of IMR4831. I've not yet tried any varmit bullets. Kinda weird, but my rifle does not like the 120gr Rem factory loads. It throws them all over the place.

25-06 likes 100 brain SPBT bullets. I use it on everything from prairie dogs to Mule Deer. 56 grains of imr 4831 sends them down range at 3225

My experince is the 120 grain bullets shoot about as well and I lose a little of why I bought the gun in the first place. Flat shooting speed.

For deer hunting I use the 100 gr. Barnes TSX in all my "Quarter Bores" bolt actions(.25 Rem., .250 Savage, .257 Roberts, .25-06 and .257 Weatherby Magnum).  For varmint hunting I use the 85 gr. Nosler Varmint Ballistic Tip.   For serious target work I use the 100 gr. HPBT MatchKing and for plinking whatever that I can get cheaply(usually off Ebay).  Lawdog

For hunting in my .257 Roberts Ackley Imp. I like the 120 Nosler Partition, its a '84 vintage Winchester featherweight that has been rebarreled by Shilen w/a 24"#3 contour & a 1:9 twist taking it out of featherweight status. It also likes 115gr. Nosler B.T., both in accuracy and velocity. For plinking I picked up 500 of the discontinued 120gr. corelokts about 3 or 4 years ago on a deal I just couldn't pass up, (should have bought 1000). I'm going to work up a load with some Barnes triple shock next, probably 115gr. In .250 savage I just stick to what works, 100gr. Hornady interlocks.   CRASH87

5 shots, 200 yards

Cartridge: .25-06 Remington
Bullet: Sierra 120 Grain HPBT
Powder: 52.5 grains of Hodgdon H-4831
Primer: Winchester Large Rifle
Case: Remington
Firearm: Ruger 77R
Optics: Leupold 4x12AO
Velocity: 2922 FPS @ 15' from  muzzle

Good enough load to take antelope out to 704 yards.

I get the same ballistics and performance using 47.7 grains of IMR-4350.

There is a reasonable selection available for the 25 cal catagory. For plinking with jacketed bullets I go with the low cost Rem CoreLokts or Win PSPs. If you get them on sale in 500 pc packs they make shooting reasonable.

In the 250 Savage I use the 100 grain variety. I get good power and a nice balance of bullet weight to powder. In the 257 Roberts I favor the 120 grain bullet. This enables me to get the most out of that cartridge for larger game. I have had excellent results with both the Sierra game kings as a standard and the Nosler balistic tip for the higher end selection.

I just love those 25s.

Mine seems to really like Sierra 117gr SPBT and Hornady 117 gr  boat tails.
