I got to the stand at 6:30. Settled in with a cup of coffee. Got my doe call and grunt ready. I started calling every 15 minutes mixing it up. Doe call once. Doe call 3 times. Buck tending grunt. Buck grunt once doe call once. Doe call 3 times. I heard him hooking a tree about 150 yards in the heavy woods on a knoll. I stop calling. At about 8 o'clock I saw him coming through the woods about 80 yards away. It looked like he was tending some scape's, but I didn't have any shot. At 8:20 he got in the zone 50 yards away but had his head down, and there was a rise between him and me. He stepped up the rise with his nose to the ground. Then he raised his head looking for that sweet little doe. Bam! TWAKK! The wind was blowing from left to right at 10 mph giving me a good view of him making his death loop back in the direction he came from. I re-loaded and got on the trail. I went to the spot where I shot him even thou I saw where he ran to. I knew the shot was a high shoulder placement. I was a little shocked he even took one step. But after seeing the blood trail I knew he wasn't going far. He made it may be 20 yards. Complete pass through with no idea where that bullet went. He is a big bodied deer going over 200 lbs.

Congratulations! Your wackin and stackin them nice bucks with the White. I saw your other buck on another forum but could not sign in for some reason. Better watch out that kinda stuff is addicting! LOL

Im glad your seeing some good bucks because they have seemed to disapear for me here in Virginia.

Black powder season opens again here tomorrow morning but I wont get a chance to go till next saturday.

Thanks Busta, and and all for your kind words. It's been one of them years alright. I still have a chance to get one more buck and 2 doe. In fact Saturday after I bagged the 6pt. my hunting buddy saw a BIGGER buck running everything out the country. He's going be big for me to pull the trigger.

Busta! Are you going to post about that shot you made? Now that was shooting!
