Ruger Flattop price?
« on: December 21, 2005, 05:23:49 AM »
I finally found a Ruger Flattop in local gun shop.  Wants $429.  Seem really tight and trigger isn't bad.  Said his cost was $390.

Is this typical price out there?  Anyone see them cheaper?  Looking to get the 357 for sure.  Would get the 44 without question if had 4 5/8" barrel.

That price sound good from what I have heard.  I can't wait to get my hands on the .44.  And yes, the first thing I will do is cut the barrel (or rebarrel it) to 4 5/8"  If I thought they would regularly catalog it, I would wait and get one after the Anniversary models were done, but I don't know that they will do that so I'll just have to buy the Anniversary.  From the looks of it, when they remount the front sight on the shorter barrel, it will cover some of the Anniversary logo.  Oh well.  It will make a fine packing gun for heavy .44 spl loads.  44 Man
