lever gun ?
« on: December 21, 2005, 05:31:44 PM »
i have been searching for a new gun and i now know that i want a lever gun .. i have never shoulderd anything but a 30-30.
first of all i have never owned a levergun so this will put me in a whole new world, i have several single barreled guns chamberd in 7mm, and 300 win mag that are my long range hunting guns, but i need a short range gun and want it to be a lever gun in the 45-70, i know there are alot of other great levers out there but my heart is beating for the 45-70...
what i need to know is the lenght of pull is it about the same as the30-30 ?
i have short arms and this is important to me , the 30-30 fits me fine but im realy wanting a 45-70.. this gun will be used for close enconters with big deer , elk, hogs and bear..
your help will be most thankful.. jeff
one good shot is worth the wait !!!

JEFF WARD2 - The easiest way to find out is to go out to the Marlin website and check the on-line catalog. They used to list the rifle specifications out there. I've got an 1895G and a 336 in .35 Rem and the length of pull seems to be about the same. Good luck with your purchase they are great rifles!! CEJ...
If I can't take my rifles with me, I don't want to go!
