Yes he was.  He brought a new .41 Bisley Hunter.  Now my old .41 Bisley has a buddy to hang around with.  Can't wait to go shoot...might go today if the rain quits.  Now to find a scope.  Might try a Weaver...I see Midway has'm on sale.  THANKS Santa,  Walt  :-D  :-D  :-D

Congrats...Man do you have options with scopes...I like the red dot I have on my SBHH 44mag but I have been thinking of replacing it with a 2x scope...I just don't know if I want a Bushnell Trophy, Burris, Leupold or a Nikon...The Bushnell is the least expensive but I might go for a Leupy...It would be my first Leupold so I could finally see what all the hullabaloo is about.  :D

I have used the Bushnell pistol scopes, but always .22s or 32 Mags.  I've heard they don't hold up well on hard kickers.  They have a lifetime warranty but that doesn't help if the reticle moves on the first day of a moose hunt!  Of course Bushnell elite's are supposed to be the old Bosch & lomb which Bushnell changed the names on.  So who knows anymore.  I've had a Bosch & Lomb on a Freedom Arms 83 in .44 mag forever!  I have several big bore pistols with leupolds or burris or nikons and never had a moments problems with any.  I think a little extra spent on the scope will be well worth it in the long run.  Enjoy that gun.

I've pretty much stayed with fixed powered scopes on everything except long reaching Contenders.  My fixed powers are either Leupolds or Burris.  I keep hearing nothing but good about the 2X Nikon but have never tried one.  Ditto for the variable Weaver...but haven't heard much about the fixed power Weavers.  Midway has the Weaver 2X on Sale for $126 and the 4X for $135.
I'm really impressed with the feel of this Hunter Model.  Really didn't expect that much weight difference.  Time I put on the rings and scope up on this heavy barrel this thing ought to shoot like a puppy.   , Walt
