introducing my self

I live in anchorage and naturally live to hunt, actually I get a bigger kick out of seeing someone get there first critter.

I hunt mainly out of the Tok/chicken/taylor hwy area. I got some friends in tok and its basically a 2nd home.  For me its to crowded to hunt around south central anymore.

My true passion is bear hunting. I love bigbores but I've been dabbling with the 35's for the last couple of years.

Welcome Blink, I'm living in North Pole now, but I have lived on Tudor Road there in Anchorage.  Then to Eagle River, then back to Government hill.  I also hunt off the Taylor highway for Caribou.  The last few years if seems all of Anchorage, Wasilla, and Keni, are coming up here to hunt for Moose.  So this year I'm going back to the Brooks Range, less crowded.  I'll still be hunting along the Taylor for Caribou.  Good luck maybe we'll run into each other.  Rog

Thanks sourdough,

You aint joking about outsiders invading the taylor. Last year the mosquito looked like a walmart parking lot. didnt help that taylor mtn was closed. I just kept on driving. I got a buddy that works at the DOT barn at the southfork so he keeps me updated on trails that not to many people know about. I just hope the fire season is slow or non-existant up there this year.

I think this spring (next month) were gonna go after griz on the dennison. Usually we use a cabin on the old alcan but we might do something different. If you ever see a 98 blue F-150 with an ugly home made trailer, thats me.

Blink:  Did they finish that road into Taylor Mountain with an Air Force site on top of the mountain?  Two years ago they had started the road when I was in there.  Had only gone about 500 yards at that time.

I drive a White 97 F-150 Ext Cab.  Usually pull a rebuilt two place snow machine trailer, with a Green Kawasaki 750 Brute Force wheeler.

Welcome to the Alaska Forum.  If I lived in Anchorage I'd have a second home too.  :)

I have been up around Tok and Chicken a few times but not much.  Just been panning up that way and camping.

Thanks Dave for the welcome. I hear ya, Anchorage sucks, but oh well, it is just a short drive to AK.
