dry tree stand

I have a summit climbing stand.
The other day they where calling for rain and I can't stand a wet & cold seat and arm pads. so what I did was before I went in the woods I got a large black plastic yard  bag. this is light and packs up small so it is easy to pack in and out and when it rips up It is very cheep to replace.

What i do is when I get out of my stand and lock it up I will slide the bag over the top part of my stand covering the seat and all the arm pads and leaves the back open to let air cirulate.

This morning when I went to my stand I had a pool of water in the middle of the bag when I took off the bag the stand was bone dry.

I have this works quite well in keeping due and frost off the stand as well making it safer to get in

Good idea. We have two Summit Viper X4's. Excellent climbers. If I left them on a tree in a public area here, the chances of finding them there in the morning would be extremely slim. There's nothing worse than getting to a stand in the morning and having to sit on a wet cushion. Makes for a long day.

Another trick is to go to canvas maker and have him make a canvas bag to fit over climber. Very quiet and very packable.
