Hello all, wonder if ya'll can help with a blackpowder shotgun. I have looked for info on it and have come up empty. Anyway, I have a Beretta tricentennial edition (1680-1980) over/under blackpowder shotgun with two hammers. It is in great condition as I have had it for a while and never shot it. I acquired it from my brother and I think he may have shot it only a few times and said it shot good. I would like to know value of this gun if anyone knows as I may trade it cause I never shoot it. Thank you

You might have a problem getting an answer as to value. You might check Gun's America, Gun Broker, and Auction Arms to see if another is for sale. You might also talk to the folks at Dixie Gun Works.

I have to aggree with CF,,the true market value has many factors. Including condition(of course) and market area,,if all you know are centerfire modern shooters,,,,well they'll give you but little for it because like yourself, they won't shoot it.
I know a feller that owns and shoot's one of those. He's a top competitor in bp shotgun shooting. It seems "he say's" that the stock cut, fit, and balance is the same as the modern beretta shotgun he uses for trap and skeet comp.
I do remember him saying he had trouble with the lock spring on the left side,,and it was a 120$ repair? Parts were hard to find.?? Anyways,,in the right market you might have 3-4 hundered there for trade( I'm not a gun expert!) I think there is a forum here for "CowBoy Action" shooting. they might help,,good luck

GUNLIST had a question and answer session about this firearm sometime in the last 2-3 months, I think I kept the article and if I can find it , I will get back to you. The one thing that I do remember them saying was that the shotgun was not made by Beretta. Eureka, I just found it. Was in the Sept. 9, 2005 issue of Gun List, page 7. You might contact them at www.gunlistonline.com. If you can't get a back issue I can make a copy and mail to you.

have you tried looking for info over on the double gun board ?
i would post the question there. im sure the could also send you to a qualified person that could assess the value and safty of your weapon .
