I am looking for some info on the 22x357 max. anybody have one or know about what kind of velocity out of a 14 inch contender. it might be known as another name. I don't know Thanks 7bru

I don't show anything that has a defined name, but for the life of me I can't see how there are not likely 5-10 different chamberings of such an animal. I figure unless there is a guys name on it, it would be called the 22 Max jet, or 22 Max, or along those lines. Oddly enough the 256 Max is not based on the MAx case but on the mag case blown out. From a 14" I would guess that 3000-3200 would be entirely possible with 40-45g bullets.

The 22x357 Max, depending on reamer dimensions, will be identical to the .222 Rimmed, with a 0.2" shorter neck. 222 Rem data would be a good starting point, with an appropriate reduction in charge for deep-seated bullets. I'm doing something similar for a Martini Cadet, but based on longer 5.6x50R brass, necked to 0.257 (sort of a 256 Mag Long).
