Burning stump w/lawnmower

A ring off a 55gal drum around the stump contains the tender. Can't beat coal. Tunnel of concrete blocks keeps mower at a distance and provides draft through gap in ring. Gets hot in a hurry.

The last stumps I burned were oak and about 35" across. I built a fire on top of them then when it got going really good I took a 15' long piipe and attached it to the hose on our Electrolux vacuum cleaner. With the hose in the blower hole and the pipe aimed at the spot on the stump I wanted to burn I kept at it for quite some time. It took about 16 hours to get it all burned up.

Biggest, hottest fire I ever started was with a gas-powered leaf blower pointed at the base.  Turned that pile of burned into a blast furnace right quick like...

Its really neat when the fire follows the roots and your neighbor's tree explodes in flames , setting his house on fire! ;D
