Just recieved an SA "loaded" 1911-A1 with the full length guide rod.
Folks, it's kickin' my *ss in the assembly/disassembly portion involving that "full length" guide rod! The "guide plug" is a royal pain to try to deal with!!!
If any of you out there have one of these beasties and have mastered the assembly of said weapon - I sure would like to hear about how you do it.
I finally got mine back together - but it cost a bunch of hide and just a little blood. I will admit to launching that guide plug accross the room more than once - spring still attached.
My wife said that I didn't use any "words" she'd never heard before - but I had them in combinations she'd never thought of.
