Jonathan,it may take the otter a while to return.I like to set a 330 at the bottom of their cross overs,I usually half submerge the traps.
What type of traps are you using?

I am new to trapping and have never caught an otter, nor tryed, but I have cought 4 raccoons.  For raccoons I use pocket sets and bait them w/ either Jack Mackrall which I can get for $.80 a can 15 miles away or Pink Salmon which I can buy in town for $1.50 a can.  I have only been trapping for maybe two or three weeks and these are my results with only four 1 1/2" Coilspring Duke traps. Hope you catch that otter and good luck with the coons.
