Is anyone hunting in Bama?Ive been doin good so far on the local deer herd.Im doing my part on controlling the herd.Ive got 2 by crossbow -2 with my encore 7-08 pistol and 1 with 270 rifle.I still have a few more people needing meat.We are blessed here with 2 a day limits.

Sounds like you are hunting where they deer are plentyful.

I'm hunting in west Jefferson Co. Not alot of deer, but there are some big boys lurking in the brush. I waiting for one of them to come out before dark.

The Club I'm in is No does and Bucks must be 4 pts on one side or better, trophys only. I'm fine with it. If I wanted to fill the freezer I'd go back south.  
We have seen several does and some small bucks, just nothing to pull the trigger on yet. There has been a 9 and 10 pt both over 230lbs taken this year so far on the property.

I'm not shy about shooting a doe. I saw five of them milling around in the field I was hunting, glassed them to make sure they were legal, as we have a 3 points on one side minimum for bucks here in Barbour county. I didn't see any antlers, so I shot the one that was closest to me. It was a frontal chest shot, and the deer never took a step. I was surprised that the bullet never exited, either.
