Savage Model C3 .22 Brithsh training rifle
« on: December 15, 2005, 09:51:14 AM »
I tryed to get info under Savage on this site and got no responces so here goes. This C3 has prof mark on the barrel 1947, m120, .610" and all the .22's long, short, and long rifle. The long, short and long rifle also shows up under the Savage name. The rear sight is a Parker Hale PH16 Mico peep sight and the front sight is a Lyman #17 hooded sight with 7 different replaceable sights patterns. If anyone has any info on this rifle please respond. I found other proofs on the rifle, TCNSPER, RND with a crown, cross swords and abut four other proofs I could not make out. Tonight I found out that the RND is a Royal Navy Department proof and the cross swords is a Brit proof. If anyone has any info on this rifle please reply. I have sent a letter to the Savage historian to ID this rifle when I get a reply  I will post the info.

Thank, you

Emmett

P.S. The 23c NRA and Sporter model have the same rear sight.

You may want to try the forum run by Parrallax he has a board dedicated to just military 22 trainers. As  does surplusrifles.com  They maybe could help you more in this matter. Good Luck
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.
