I have an old nra guide that may have instructions. If it does I'll get back to you.. If you find something online I'd be interested in where as I've not found any teardown instructions on the web, just parts blow ups.

Hey Yukon, :D  I have a take down book ( actually a few )  and I read your posting wanting instructions for the take down and reassembly of your Remington Model 511.  I have them here at my home, and I have scanned the pages for you, and if you get me your e-mail I will try to send them to you.

Hope I can be of help in getting these to you some how.  I will send you back a reply with the attached files in jpeg format for you once I get  your e-mail address since I cannot seem to find a way to send pics of the disassembly of your Remington 511 to you here.

Everyone helping each other this way is how we all keep what we love to do alive in this country. It's just my thoughts about helping out.

Take care buddy and I will wait for your e-mail and will get back to you as soon as possible.

      Happy shooting,

:D Hey Yukon glad that helped you out.  I guess it might be a first edition book, but I am not sure.  I have not seen any second or third editions of this takedown book I have that I used to send you pics and info from,( "Sporting Rifle Takedown and Reassembly Guide" by J. B. Wood), although there may be out some out there to be had. There are a few takedown books that are in a series, many of which I still need to buy. Gun books are like guns, tools and money, there's no such thing as having too much of them hahaha.

I know there are a series of take down books put out by Gun Digest but they are mostly Schematics blueprints, exploded drawings etc. The NRA put out a series also of firearms assembly.

The way I started collecting books inexspensively is by joing OutdoorLife book club and the Military book club yearsssss ago back in high school.  Not sure if they even still have that same bookclub goign or not but it's worth looking into.  I may re-join the bookclub to see what they have these days if they still have it going.

Give me a shout if ya need anything else, and I will help if I can.  I don't have a ton of books, but I do have a few.

Happy Shootin Boys
