Chance to buy a TC Aristocrat, need some advice
« on: January 07, 2006, 04:51:23 AM »
Hey Guys,

A local dealer and great guy that I have bought from in the past has a like new double set trigger, mag marked TCR Aristocrat with 4 barrels, all with rings and bases like new as well in the following calibers: 6.5x55, .243 Win, .22 hornet, 22-250 all for $1800.  I know that sounds like a lot but when I think about how much a rifle in each of those calibers would run me it sounds like a great deal to me. Plus I'm a single shot kinda hunter anyway and this rifle looks very nice and very well made.

Your thoughts, advice and experience are greatly appreciated!

Thanks much,

Billy

I own a lot of tcr stuff  so I am  talking with knowledge..

the price is fair  but not a great deal..

An  Aristocrat mag frame  $400-$550

A   22 hornet is a hard to get barrel  $350+-50

the 6.5x55 if a custom shop $400 +-50

and the  22-250  and the 243  a little easer to get but still go for  $250+-50

I would try to have the price cut back some if the dealer is a "great guy" he will..
I have yet been able to shoot a 3 shot sub 1" group at 100 yards ...........on any deer!!!!!!

Thank you for the reply, the 6.5x55 is a custom shop.  So far that is the best price I can get it for with free shipping.

How do these rifles shoot?  I used to moa or sub moa rifles.  Will it give me that kind of performance?

Thanks again I really appreciate it.

Billy

The 22-250 ,223 and the 243 I have are sub 1" at 100

My 270 and 308 are 1 to 2 inch but I have not put any work into  them trying to find what ammo they like..

And my 10gauge and 12gauge ,well they work like they shoud...

But as all t/c barrels you can get a lemon from time to time...

Thanks so much for the feedback.  Really matters coming from someone that has them and shoots them well!

Can you fire the rifle without setting the trigger?   Your talking me into it......
