These two ladies came in my shooting lane yesterday about 4pm. Took the one on the right at about 125 yards quartering away, and took the other standing at 135 yards broadside right behind her. They both dropped where they stood. I am using the Fusion 95 grain and I love this bullet. I have shot a 7mm up until this year and never had a deer drop in its tracks. I have taken 4 deer this year and a yote and all 5 fell where they stood. I am in love with the Handi- Rifle.

Culled this odd looking 6 pointer two weeks ago chasing a doe.

Congratulations on your harvest!!! I take it you were using a .243? Also, if I'm not mistaken is that a doe and her young of the year? Great job!

You are right on both. I was using my new all time favorite Handi .243

and that is her little one for the year. They have been eating good though. The momma weighed a ton and her little one weighed as much as some muture does I have shot. She was heavy for a little one. She sure will eat good though!

I hear you about good eating, I got this one during gun season here in Ohio, and I could push my finger to the shoulder blade when processing it...pretty tender.

I filled my other tag last Wednesday, and the story on that is in the Huntsman Muzzleloader Forumn. With the looks of your hunting buddies there, I don't think you'll have any trouble at all finishing all those deer off :grin: .

Congrats on your harvest. And yes, they can eat it as fast as I can take off of the stove. They would rather eat deer meat than anything else.

Congrates looks like you want starve this winter either. The deer in our neck of the woods have been well blessed with a huge acorn crop. Some say it is the biggest in years.

The huge mast crop this of acorns has cost a lot of hunters in our neck of the woods a lot time and money in food plots. The only hunters right now seeing any deer in food plots are where there are no hardwoods where they are hunting. I am still seeing deer use the hardwoods where they are available. We still have a lot acorns on the ground.

Stateline, I'm over in Stantonville and also own a .243 Handi Superlite. I do my own handloading and have come up with "poison" loads for deer and yotes. Send me a PM and maybe we can get together and talk shop sometime.

Which .243 you got - superlight, standard, or HB? I've got the standard, and tried to hunt with it, but I've been skunked. Only time I saw a legal deer was in ML season, and got it, but that doe was my only one this year.

Supplyguy, I hunt a farm 2 miles west of Stantonville Methodist Church. My step father has a farm that joins Ronnie Mulder's land. I took the 2 does in the pic off that farm. I will get with you and we will talk shop and maybe go get some yotes.
