By the looks of the woods, the globblers ought to be gobbling early this year in SW Alabama. The red clover is already starting to bloom, and the leaves are appearing on the hardwoods. When these events begin, its been my experience that gobbling is not far behind. There has been plenty of rain, but I still found quite a few gobbler tracks at the camp in Choctaw County today. Season opens Saturday, March 15, and I plan to leave early Friday morning for some last minute scouting before I make my final decision of where to be at daylight Saturday. All signs are encourging.
