I bought a brand new one just as soon as they came out ( serial # slightly under 2000.  I'm going to say 1996...may be off by a year.  There certainly wasn't any problem with my sample or anyone else's that I ever heard of.  It was one of my favorites's until some low life took it out of the toolbox of my pickup.  I'd say they were in production from 95-96 up to the factory fire.  Yea, I'm wondering what the hold-up is on the SS G-2 is too.  GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt   :?

I copied this info from an article over on Handgun Hunt., looks like about 7 yrs. worth of them, hopefully the G2's will come out in stainless before too much longer.

Thanks for the info. I guess I bought one when they first came out too. Checked my records & I see mine was purchased 5/1993.
I have not seen many around here. I just wondered if they were discontinued for some kind of problem. Glad to hear there were no glaring issues about them.

I've never heard of any issues w/ them.  Can't remember when I bought mine, but it must have been around when they first came out.

Mine had to be 1st half of '93 as well.  Oh well, three years is pretty close for my memory.  Since I lost that one, about a year ago, I bought another SS frame that evidently was built in the last half of '95 and it is every bit as good as the first one.  I think both SS and blue frames were discontinued at the same time.  GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt  :-D
