Does anyone remember the large frame Virgina Dragoons in 44 Mag and 45 LC ?  How was their quality?   They look pretty solid.  Giving one in 44 Mag strong consideration.  All help would be appreciated.

I have one..  If you scroll down through this forum section you see a thread or two about them, one having pics of mine.  I love mine.  Not a problem with it in the last year that I have owned it.

The gun:

They are built like a tank.  Having a receiver as massive, if not more massive, as the Super Blackhawk or United Sporting Arms Seville's.  Maybe FA being the only more massive receiver..

The early units were produced overseas, the later produced in good old Virginia.

They do have a couple drawbacks, one being they are no longer in production of you break something.  The other is the slightly weaker Colt style trigger assembly compared to the Rugers.

If you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC,  check out this article from Lee Martin.

My opinion...  If you can pick it up for under $300, BUY IT!  Depending on condition it may be worth more.

I bought one a couple of months ago and love it.  I picked it up for around $200 or maybe a little more.
The early ones were made in Switzerland and during the last couple of years, they were assembled in Virginia.  The fit and finish of all of them is second to none.  While they are out of production, it is my understanding that parts are available and can be made in case there is a problem.

Here's my 44. Just a hair less tight than my FA M97 with a fine trigger as well.
