After 17 years of using a single stage RCBS "JR" that my uncle gave me, I decided to snag up something to load handgun cartridges in fast manner compared to the old press.
I ordered the Lee Pro 1000 from Midway for $109.00+SH. Setup for 45LC, I also optioned the auto bullet feeder as well.
...now, I know the Lee's are a love'm or hate'm thing. But I couldn't really go wrong for $110 right? Any of you have disasterous encounters with the Lee Pro 1000? Need any tweak'n or mods to make work reliably?
Yes, before you say it-I know the Dillions, Hornady and RCBS progressive presses are better, but they are also way out of my price range. I'm poor, thus the necessity of having to reload.
I plan on continuing to use my single stage for .22 Hornet, .225 Win, .32spl and 45-70. Maybe to suppliment the Lee's operations too.
Next thing is getting into casting my own slugs.. but thats after I pay this winter's gas bills.
