I'm looking for a link to any page that gives details of the history along with pictures of the Redfield scope company. I have an old Redfield Lo-Pro Widefield 4X and would like to find out what year it was made. Thanks.

won't your computer allow you to do a web 'search'? if that doesn't work
why not go to the library and get their address/phone number out of a Gun Digest? a phone call might get you a librarian who will find it for you.

I have a couple of LPWF 4X Redfields. I bought them about '84 - I believe they have serial numbers. If you want to try and compare serial numbers, I could try to look to see if I still have the dates of purchase. Who knows - might work? BTW - they still work fine!

I can't find any numbers anywhere! I took the eyepiece off and looked inside. Nothing!

One Shot - I just read your post and went down to the safe and looked at my Redfield LPWF's. They are both mounted, and I couldn't see all of the underside of the tubes, but it sure looks like there aren't any SN's. Sorry, a lot of scopes do have them and I didn't realize that these apparently do not. The only thing I can tell you is that I got mine in the mid-80's. I bought 4 of them altogether at different times - two 2.5X and two 4X and never had any problems, and they have all done a lot of hunting.
