AR 15 Pistol

I've read that the people working over in the sandbox are using short barrel M16s for close range defensive ops. This got me think about the merits of an AR 15 pistol. Anyone have any experiences with them??What do you think the pros and cons are??

I know of the bushmaster and olympic arms. I was thinking about this because we can't own short barrel rifles in NY. The idea of this as a house gun appeals to me. I read some article on the use of short barrel M16's in Iraq

For you guys interested in these weapons, and don't want to spend the money for a Bushy, Kel Tec offers a AR pistol for less than $400. Don't know much about them, other than they use AR magazines and fire the 5.56 round.

A- I went on the kel-tec web site and only saw rifles (with barrels from  12  inches on up.) with folding stocks
B- Do you think the loss of velocity would affect the performance of the 223.
C- I know the muzzle blast would be a bitch- I've fired a Mini 14 indoors even with ears on it was brutal
D- its portable and would be legal to carry as a pistol
