A little while back I purchased a USED Handi rifle that had a youth stock. I intended to replace the youth stock for an adult size. Upon trying to remove the stock, I quickly learned that the stock bolt had been cross threaded. After getting the stock off a quick inspection revealed that the stock bolt may also have been over-tightened. There were deep imprint of the rear of the reciever into the stock and the laminate had been cracked.
I contacted NEF CS and asked if they would make the repairs. At this point I just wanted the gun repaired. I knew the stock bolt "lug" on the receiver would probably have to be re-threaded and the stock bolt replaced as it was completely stripped. I also explained that I would like to replace the damaged youth stock with an adult size.
The employee I spoke to put me on hold briefly then returned and told me to send the receiver, stock and bolt to them and they would take a look at it.
About two weeks later I received everything back. The stock had been replaced with a new adult size w/recoil pad , the stock bolt and receiver had been repaired and there was an invoice included that indicated "NO CHARGE".
Holy Cow! I even included a letter that indicated I expected to be contacted with a total cost for parts and repairs given that I purchased the gun used.
It can't get much better than that.
Great job H&R 1871 Customer Service!
