Brass for 8 mm Lebel
« on: January 22, 2005, 06:48:31 PM »
Hello shipmates,
After the heart break of seeing 8mm lebel brass listed in half  a dozen places only to find it all sold out and no back orders in sight, I've decided to try and resize 348 winchester cases.  Have any of you done this and what were your results?  I've got a Berthier Carbine that I just have to shoot!

thanks in advance,
 graycg

I have heard it can be done but you need a forming die to do it and they are not cheap nor is 348 brass but I guess you got to do what you got to do to get it up and shooting. Good luck! Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

I reform .348 in a Lee reloading die. It works ok, I get a little wrinkling in the shoulder area, doesn't seem to hurt anything, but I use light loads. Grafs said they will have 8mm Lebel brass arriving in April, but past experience says don't hold your breath.

I know this is an old post, but I wanted to let people know that an Idaho company, Buffalo Arms, has Lebel brass also.  Their prices vary greatly according to manufacturer, but they have many obsolete cartridges listed.
