I was just wondering, and this may sound really novice of me to ask

But I was wondering what the difference would be hunting with a Moly coated round rather than just a normal everyday round. I'm still getting my .308 ready not only to take to the range but to hunt deer with.
I was just curious thats all

all i have to say : i find moly to be too much work if you want to try different bullets , but i've not played with it enough to know the good and bad points

There is more misinformation, wives tales and half truths published about molly bullets than about any other subject in shooting. If you are just hunting with them, the only difference you will notice is that at the end of the day, if you are using them, you will have dirty hands. Larry

Larry. If you get dirty hands your process is lacking.

Plating is what you supposed to do not coating. A properly plated bullet will not shed the moly.

Many of the people that sell the products sell poor moly powder too course to impregnate the copper jacket besides advisng of short cut methods.

I shoot only moly plated bullets, they save the barrel and throat, and make cleaning very easy.

You are right there is a lot of hog wash circulated.
Many problems are encountered by improper application.

Anybody wants to know more about moly plating can look it up on my web site. Yes it takes time and labor.

Hum! I had a dealer tell me that you should never use moly coated bullets in a new gun they would ruin the barrel they were for older guns with woreout barrels. Is this not the case?
