Should I buy it?
« on: March 11, 2003, 05:13:00 PM »
I've been offered a contender that was purchased in '81 or '82. It has a30/30 14" bull w/ bushnell scope, .38 spl. 10" octagonal, .222 rem. 10" bull barrel. Price $300.
This man is the most pessimestic person I've ever met. He thinks the .308 win. is a lousy cartridge. Likewise T/C makes some of the worst junk to be sold as firearms. ( his opinions)
He says it won't fire a rifle cartridge any more, although it once did. I'm thinking it may be dirty but have yet to see it.
So what do ya'll think? I have dies for all three cartridges, so ammo isn't much of a consideration. Should I join you in this madness? ROB

No, you should give me his name and number so I can give him a piece of my mind for trying to take advantage of you like that!!!  Seriously though, JUMP ON IT!!! If there is really some thing wrong with it TC will fix it for free. A pistol w/ 2 extra barrels is worth at least $500 in poor condition.A decent pistol is worth about $300-$350, and extra barrels about $100-$150 each. You didn't say what bushnell scope but theres extra for that too. DONT DELAY, JUMP ON IT!!!   KN

In two words, BUY IT!!

The frame,.30-30 barrel, & scope alone should easily be worth $300.!

Go buy it, and enjoy your new gun package.  You can always sell it down the road and easily MAKE money!

Good Hunting, Del
I LOVE TO HUNT!
Especially with a Handgun!!

 Based upon this guy's other opinions....y'might also want to ask him for the names of any women he considers ugly.

BUY IT, or ya can broker it to me for a quick 50 and save yourself from the TC disease.... there's no cure.
Good luck,
natty

Thanks for your input. I'm sorry to be so late getting back but my monitor took a dive on me. Finally got one today.
You've convinced me to go for it, unless it has been under the porch for ten years or something. I have yet to see it, but I think he does take good care of his weapons. I'm the only man in town who doesn't cal him Grumpy to his face, so maybe being polite to your elders can be rewarding after all.
NattyB you must have known someone like him, he does call some mighty fine women ugly.
I'll report back when I get it, meanwhile I'll read and learn as much as I can from all you old hands. Rob
