I have found out some information that is going to require me to need a new encore / contender barrel. This barrel needs to be in a magnum handgun round. I am leaning to a 12 to 15 inch 454 casull for my encore.

I already have RCBS steal reloading dies for my 45 long colt (45-410 barrels)

I talked with RCBS today and was told that the decapping die and case expanding die would work but I would need to but a 20$ seater die from them to use the 45 colt dies because the 45 colt dies would not put a strong enough crimp on the case

was RCBS just trying to sell me a 20$ seater die or will the 45 colt seater die really not work?

Last time I looked you could buy the complete .454 carbide die set for around $34.

Spend the few dollars and get the set...

I have an ad listed for a set of 454 dies, the real trouble is money and space. it is all that much better if I can have things that do double duty

I had nothing but trouble trying to reload 454 Casull with 45 L/C dies. Your better off getting a set of Lee dies for the 454 Casull and be done with it.
