Thinking about buying on of these. Too bad they're ltd. Does anyone know what type of rifling they have? Or I might just wait until the XLR comes out, buy one in 444 and have the barrel cut back to 18".

One thing about a Marlin 336 is it fits the hand just right for carrying. The 1895 and 444 are bigger, heavier and just doesn't feel the same. I started the deer season carrying my scoped 1895 but switched back to the 336 in .35 Remington.......

I just got one of the 336 SS LTDs. I have put about 35 rounds through mine for break in and getting the feel of the rifle. The sights were pretty much on right out of the box so I have not done any bench shooting for accuracy yet. However I was shooting at a target with a 4 inch black center and was keeping most of my shots in the black at 100 yds offhand. Based on these results, I expect the rifle to be very accurate off the bench. I am extremely pleased with the rifle and feel I got my moneys worth and then some with this little rifle. The recoil and muzzle blast are very mild, of course the 35 Rem is known as a pleasent cartridge. I just can't decide between the AO and Williams sights for the rifle or possibly a small low powered scope.
