New peep sights for Marlins?

Anyone used the XS Ghost Ring Hunting Sights with the white blade front post? Are they worth the $90 price tag? I have Lyman 66 peep sights with Williams fire sight fronts on 4 Marlins but the glow on the fiberoptics is hard for me to focus. I have read through the grapevine that the XS system with the blade post is the way to go, easier to acquire sight picture. Any comments would be appreciated, J-P.

I bought the Williams receiver sight with a HiViz front works for me, as I shoot 50 yds and under. The Ghost sight required me to lift my head up to sight in on the target. This for me is not what I wanted.

ive got a set of brockman ghost rings and i actually prefer the williams the brockman is more of a pain to adj. and you dont have an option for apeture size

I have the xo sight set up on a marlin guide gun in 45-70  and a winchester 94 trapper in 30-30. I think they are the best thing since peanut butter, easy to adjust  and very strong. on the trapper I left the factory front sight and to me it seems to perform just as well  in the woods as the front sight on my guide gun with the white line, but every ones eyes are a little different so you might prefer the white line.

My eyes also cannot use the fiber optic front sights that well, something I've noticed sighting in and target shooting with them. I like the Lyman 66 and Williams FP receiver aperture sights with the large aperture installed. There is a limit to how large the receiver aperture can be and still aid the eye in centering the front sight reflexively, and the Lyman and Williams large diameter aperture discs seem to be just about right. I have found that the front sight on my Marlin Guide Gun can take a bead of "glossy white" model paint for hunting, offering fairly good pick up in dark woods while not providing me with the disruptive glow of the fiber optics. I realize this is subjective, as some hunting partners use these fiber optic front sights quite well.

dont care for fiber optics they dont give sharp sight definition and are fragile.

I like the Wild West Guns ghost ring over the XS because they sit lower on the stock and I found I had to lift my head up a little to use the XS sights.  The XS sights are much more precise for longer range shooting due to thier excellent front post compared to the bead front sight.  For quick close in work the bead works just fine though.

I can't comment on the value of the XS system, but I prefer the green fiber optic provided in Marble's front bead.  i use it with Williams receiver sight.

I have an XS on my Ranger Compact 94 and a Williams 5D on my Marlin both are excellent sights though the Williams is more precise for target work.  None of mine wear a fiber optic front sight my Williams using the factory bead, and my XS the white front post.  I'd recommend you purchase just the white post front sight sepparately and use with your excellent Williams sight.  The XS front post sights are available thru Brownell's.

My 94C currently has Williams WGRS- didn't want anything hanging off the side of the action. Front is a Williams firesight, but the original white bead works fine as well. DD

Just to update, I ended up staying with the Lyman 66 sight setup but made a simple change with the front sights. I replaced the Williams firesights, which were fuzzy to me and fragile, with smaller Marbles 1/16 inch ivory bead steel sights. For me, the smaller white ivory bead seems easier to pickup and more precise in aiming at targets that are farther and they are strong. I would recommend them to any one who might be having problems focusing with their firesight setup.
