can a rem 700 .270 be rechambered to .280?

Rebarrel, yes, easily. Rechambered, no, unless you want to blow up something. But why bother? The difference is so small as to be meaningless in the field.

the diffrence is not only  meaningless in the field but meaningless on paper in ballistics on game in trajectory and in recoil, It's bacically the same thing as trading a Chevrolet to buy a GMC. :o

Meaningless---BAA ;D the 280 is 7000ths larger. Well that's a bout the size of an eyebrow(or some other place) hair. hehehe capt dp
