Slug barrel for Encore?

Does anyone have a 12 ga. slug barrel for their Encore. If so what kind of slugs do you shoot and how is the accuracy? Thanks for any response.

I have both a 12 and 20 guage. The 12 guage shot most of the sabots I tried pretty well. I tried a bunch of different brands. Thought they weren't shooting goood until I found my scope was bad!

I really like the new Hornady SST's, awesome groups at 100 yards. As I shot all my SST's I ended up shooting a doe with Brenneke KO sabots. I got them from a shop going out of business for $3.50 a box. They a also shoot great. I never really found any sabot that the gun didn't like.

My choice for next year is the Hornady SST.

CT - What ammo are you shooting with the 20 gauge?  I just got one last week and haven't been to the range yet.  Also, would be interested in your scope selection, too.  Thanks!

Seminole,

Haven't shot it yet either. I just stubled across it at a great deal and bought it. I put a 2x7 Bushnell Elite scope on it. I have the same on my 12 guage, it's sweet. I really don't need the 7 power, but the scope iworks great on my 12 so why change.

I was looking at picking up some Winchester gold sabots after CHRISTmas. I'll keep you informed. I'm hoping that Hornady puts out the SST in .20 it shoots awesome from my 12.

I also am interested in shooting the sst 12ga. slug. I have an Encore 12ga. slug barrel on order. By the way Cabelas has  started to stock stainless slug barrels for Encore 1 in 28 twist . I was told they were run just for Cabelas. I hope the ssts dont kick like the Winchester partition golds I have been shooting, they are brutal.

I bought a Stainless Steel 12ga barrel for Cabela's and love the look...even on my blued frame.  Haven't shot it yet but can't wait, hopefully this weekend.  I have a 375 Winchester barrel that jumps quite a bit but at 280 lbs I'm not all that light.

My friends  Remington 870 did knock me around on the range last fall, so I'm wondering what this is going to be like.  I did install a Sims recoil pad during Muzzleloader season and it did make a difference.

I have Hornady SST's, and Winchester BRI's to try.  I'll let you know.

My wife once made the mistake of telling me "all of your guns look alike"...No, I've had this gun for a long time! LOL
