I'm not familiar with the MARLIN 1894. It looks like it has a solid reciever. Where is the ejection port? The Marlin site shows the gun but only in a closed view. Personally, (not meaning to offend anyone) I don't really like the looks of this model. If I can see it in person I might change my mind...

The 1894 models have a square bolt, versus the round bolt you see on the 336 and 1895 models. It ejects straight out the right side and slightly forward. Look at the picture, you can see the bolt just above the loading port.

Chambered in 357/38, it is probably the most versatile and sweetest little gun made. It will tackle up to deer sized game out to about 100 yards, and is a pleasure to just plink with. I personnaly wouldn't trade mine for anything.

The Marlin 1894 is a great little rifle. And they shoot very well. If you get one you will probably end with with several. They are way too much fun!

Most prefer .357, and are picky about overall length on .38's. The guy who originally had my 1894 ordered a part (carrier?) used on the .38 Special Cowboy Competition model and swapped out the original. I've put a few hundred National Bullet Co. 158 gn .38 reloads through without a problem.

I don't know about just seeing one, but if you ever shoulder one...

Mine are in 44 mag and 218BEE. The BEE is a 1/2 magazine rifle with peep sights; it's a tack driver.
