Ok guys I am working on a new load for my wife's 45

I want something that is lightweight (200 grains or less) because of recoil, but will still give me a pass thru shot on a deer.  Is this possible?  Does anyone have experience with this?

I have tried powerbelts and have had no luck on pentration with them, so I am looking at anything execpt a powerbelt.

How about a 200 grain TC Shockwave? I have hear they have had great results with that bullet....

Speer makes a 40 cal 185 grain Gold Dot HP - that could be an excellent bulllet.  It is bonded - no copper lead separation...

And of course Hornady makes a 40 cal 200 grain xtp - which is the Shockwave without the plastic tip...
Keep shooting muzzleloaders - they are a blast....

195 gr. or 175 gr. Precision rifle dead centers.  90 gr. of triple7.

Try a 460gr No Excuses and 60-70 grains of FFF.  Doesn't take a lot of power to get those big trashcans moving and it should pass through no matter which way the deer is facing.

The No Excuses guy is nice to deal with too.  E-mail an order, he'll ship to you with an invoice and mail him a check to pay for them.

Chicken,

I fear in the light Rossi youth she shoots 460 grains would knock her arm off, no matter how light the charge behind it.
