Has anyone seen or tried Hornady's new LeverEvolution pointed polymer tipped ammo for lever guns?  It looks intriguing and just might justify my putting a scope on my .450 and carrying all season instead of early and during drives as I do now.

It may not yet be available, but I'm curious to hear from the you guys and not just the writers.  Thanks!

They started with .30-30 and .35Rem...  The .450 and 45/70 is supposed to come out later this year.

The .30-30 and .35 Rem has been available since early November, although they did run out, it's back in stock now!!

Perhaps i'm mistaken 'er what?  I thought that we'd be able to buy components (leverevolution bullets) also but the more I read on their site it's not looking like anything but Hornady cartridges?  Am I imagining things?

If the latter is true, wonder how long before some other company brings out like products in component sale?

Just some worries I'd share

This new ammo to me is the bigest boost that can happen to lever action rifles in a hundred years!  I just checked out the Marlin web sight and drooled over the new 336XLR with 24 inch barrel.  I also went to Hornady's web sight and reviewed the specs on their 30-30 and .35 Rem.  Cool movie too.  The 24 inch barrel sure helps a bit BUT the modern pointed bullet...man why did this take so long?  It cranks our beloved lever action to a 200 yard gun easy.  Hornady just hit the jackpot! :-D
