I heard from 2 sources Cabela's is looking to build new store on Rt.146 in Clifton Park.  I think it's in initial planning stages.  Does anyone here know more?

I hope not!   Then I will have to pay sales tax on my mail orders from Cabelas!    :x

I used to think that too;  However, on my last Bass Pro purchase, I was NOT charged sales tax.  I asked customer service about it at the time & they simply said it was not required.

I don't think you'll have to pay sales tax if the things you order are ordered out of the state even though they have a store in this state. I've ordered things from Sear's from their catalog that was out of state and didn't have to pay sales tax. They have a lot of store's around here.

Yeah Fellas - they want to put that new store in Malta, in Saratoga County.  The place they want to put it is on a horse farm that is being sold.  The small minded and turf oriented Saratoga county elected wants to maintain the pristine aroma of the horse pucky that is layin' all around the county and can't tolerate the notion of moving forward with business.

What idjits!  The amount of money and business that would bring to Saratoga county and the employment opportunities for literally thousands of people in both Saratoga and schenectady counties is an economic opportunity Saratoga sees once a year, at the best, during track month at the Saratoga race track.  These people are too blind to the economic advantages of having a business like that contribute a 'track month' all year long.

Me, I'm just hopin' I can land a job in the gun department - won't be like a 2nd job after retirement, more like just contributin' my paycheck to a gunshop (lol).  Mikey.

Has anyone heard any more on this?  We have relatives that live in Middlegrove NY and we go to visit them at least once a year...A Cabelas would be a nice stop on the way there.  I'll keep my fingers crossed...

Sadly;  I heard recently the project got squashed-  No doubt by the "Pretty people" of Clifton Park who prefer the smell of horse puckey.
