Well i found the sweet spot with my .308 rifle. it's shooting them 1" groups again. this time with 150gr Hornady BT and BTSP bullets with interlock. 44grs of Varget and CCI primers.

speaking of reloading, i'm gonna update my tools to a press, any suggestions on brand and all i'll need? right now i've got the Lee Classic.

You may want to drop in to the hand loading forum and look at some of the posts about new guys looking to load .

There are a lot of ideas and info to look over .

I've seen the RCBS Rockchucker Supreme recommended so many times, it's gotta be a good choice. For less money, you can't beat the Lee Classic Cast press, but it doesn't come in any kit form. The Lee Anniversary kit comes with a Challenger press which many are happy with, but it you have the money, I'd go for the RCBS kit, Midsouth has great price on it...

Since you wanting to upgrade...do you have any idea of what you want to spend...You have several options...to look at..and knowing your price range would be most helpfull...

FWIW...I use a Hornady Lock & Load...and I do like it a-lot...it's fast and easy to change dies out..and it is consistant with putting them back in with the Lock & load bushings.....and if I felt  the need to go to a better single stage press over it...it would be a Forster Co-Ax press.....If I wanted something different...say...something that I could have...to set on my bench to load multiple calibers at once...the Redding T-7 turret press would be my choice...they are one of the better Turrets available...now..going to a full progressive press...only 1 brand  would be for me...Dillon...

Basiclly...it will come down to what you want to spend...and what color you want... :) They all work pretty darn good...and make good ammo...

I own a turret 4 holes and a Classic cast.

The next one will be a Classic cast Turret. Loading 45-70 at the same rate than 45acp will be delightfull.
And always the advantage of the turret, change plate and caliber in seconds and without autoindex operate as a single.
Did i say that i like those products !.

This Lee three hole turret press has worked for me for over 25 years , Many say Lees are junk but i just love it .



Just starting out the Lee is a good deal at low cost !!!

I just bought a Lee Pro 1000 Progressive for handgun reloading-couldn't beat the deal at Midway $109 for the entire setup..  I still use my RCBS JR3 that was given to me 17-18 years ago to load my rifle rounds.

i got a friend of mine into reloading last year and his rockchucker supreme is even easier to use (more room) than my rockchucker II.   but it has all the strength of the original rockchucker i believe   it may also be adaptable to a multi-stage or progressive format at a later date.  

i don't see me ever adapting my RC II to a progressive, but it would be an option.   i'd call one of the GRO sponsors and see what kind of a deal they'll give you on a Rock Chucker Supreme.
