Different weight bullets hitting about the same place.
« on: January 19, 2006, 10:29:19 AM »
I've seen in print that the 375 H&H magnum shoots bullets of different weights to about the same place.  In my experience with 270 and 300 grain bullets it seems to be true but there is only a 30 grain weight difference between them.  I also heard this recently about the 416 Rigby from a PH.

Has this been the experience of others?  Is there a logical explanation for this?  Are there other cartridges blessed with this characteristic?

I have a 416 Rigby, and the 300 gr. Barnes x does not have the same point of impact as my 350 gr. Barnes solids. About 3 inches different.

I believe JJ Hack has commented on this phenomenom as have others.
Not all .375 HH do of course but it seems to be not uncommon as well the .270.
