Different 17 hm2 bullet?

Do you guys think Hornady will ever come out with a different bullet for the 17 hm2 cartridge? I have read that the v-max CAN tear up a grey squirrel pretty bad, but not always. I think that a hollow point like CCI's tnt would be nice on the hm2.

I've shot a few boxes of the CCI TNT's in my hummer and hit a few crows with them.....all of the shots have been around 100 yards.......sometimes they would expand and sometimes they wouldn't.....haven't tried them on squirrels...they aren't what my gun likes and don't group quite as well as the V-max.......but most groups with the CCI were just over an inch...I've also tried the 20 grain XTP.......they aren't near as destructive as the V-max and they do mushroom just like they should........
My thinking is that if the CCI doesn't expand consistently at HMR velocities they probably won't expand at HM2 velocities......this might be a good thing for squirrels......

Aquila has a new round out in .17hm2 a hollow point its made with a necked down LR instead of a necked down stinger(the Stinger is 1/10 longer than the LR)

I know the Hornady XTP 20 grain in 17 HMR works great on jak rabbits. The bullet expands like they should. Maybe in the future the .17hm2 would be loaded with the 20 grain XTP. But, my gun 17 HMR loves the 20 grain XTP.

The .17Aguila round is a 20gr JSP, can be shot in a 17M2 chambered rifle, but not the other way round. PMC also makes it in what they call a .17PMC, but scuttlebutt is they are out of business, dunno for sure, tho.
