57mm case to 30 cal

Has anyone ever necked down a 8x57 to 30 caliber?  The 06 has been opened up to 8mm for the 8mm-06 but ahs anyone gone in the other direction?? 

I have heard the 57mm length action causes some feeding problems with the 51mm length (308) round and I know there were feeding problems with the 8mm-06 and the shorter 57mm vs 62mm (06) case.

What would you call it, 8mm-08??  Any potential????  Just curious.  Mikey.

So go with the 06. You will have no troubles with it. The over all lenth of the .30-06 and the 8x57 are abt identical.
