Thinking seriously about buying this rifle. Marlin 1895 Lever Action Rifle Cowboy 45-70! Any suggestions are reasons to get the shorter 22" barrel instead of the 26" Barrel? What are the draw backs and problems with this rifle if any?

I have an 1895 with 22 inch barrel.  I'd love the have the cowboy with the longer barrel.  I think the 45.70 is one round that can really use the extra length.  I'd say go for it! :D

Just a couple of days ago I picked up an 1895 Cowboy. I liked the octagon barrel, slim forearm, and lack of checkering. I was originally planing to have the barrel shortened to 22" but now I think I'm going to leave it 26". I just like how it looks and feels.
