Thinking about getting a Burris scope for my .460. Some Burris scopes have Posi-Lock,is it worth the extra money ? Also looking at Jack Wiegand rings & base. Should I get the magnum rings. If so how many, 3 or 4 ?

Don't get the posi-lock. You'll probably forget that it's locked and try to adjust the scope. This leads to a broken scope. My local Burris dealer says this problem is the main problem he sees with Burris scopes.

I have a Burris without the posi-lock. It's fine.

I have a Jack Wiegand base and it is excellent. Your best bet is to call them and ask what they recommend. Jack will often pick up the phone himself, but whoever answers will be able to give you the right answer.

I am only using 2 rings on my 460 with no problem.  :D

Weigand rings and bases are of excellent quality...On the web-site he recommends 3 rings for 44 Mag(Heavy Loads) up to 500 Mag(Light Loads).  Here's the link...

Another plus is the discount you receive when you purchase the rings and base together.  There is also free shipping when your order is over $39.95 as yours will be.

Good luck and let us know how it works out...

I bought a Burris scope with the posi lock.  If I had it to do again, I probably wouldn't.  Even though it is on the scope, I've never used it.  The scope stays without the lock.  I have one on a .500 and two rings weren't enough to really keep the scope from moving a little.  So since I had to buy four in order to get three rings, I put all four on and no problems since.

I guess my Leupold mounts must be real good, I have over 3000 rounds through my 500 Mag and my scope never moved. The same with my 460 Mag, I have Leupold rings, only 2 and my scope never has moved.  :D
