My search showed nothing, so here goes. I just bought a S & W 1 1/2 Model, 2nd issue, which is described in Flaydermans Antique Firearms book as a 32 long rimfire. Can I shoot the 32 short rimfire in this cylinder also? The shorts I measured, about 1/4 inch shorter than the cylinder.
The gun is in excellent condition, locks up tight, no play anywhere, tight, and bore excellent. I realize this is a black powder era revolver, but that aside, is there any problem with the shorts in this gun?
I can purchase some of the earlier produced Navy Arms 32 Rimfire shorts, but no longs. These cartridges are pricey, I should have bought a centerfire so I could reload. The old Smith was just too nice and reasonable priced to pass up.
Thanks folks,
