Moose, the Warne mount and rings work great and a Leupold VXI M/L/Shotgun scope 2X7X33mm.  :D

I think redhawk has set you in the right direction. I am a big fan of Nikon Monarks but think the new Buckmaster would be fine also. I just put the Talley one peice mount on my .50 cal. Encore with a 3x9 Burris Fulfield II. It's a nice setup as well. I've never owned a Burris but I got it from a friend for $150 almost new. So far it has been great.

Good luck

I also have an Omega. I use the Weaver-style Maxima base and quick detach rings (can't remember who makes them for T/C). For regular gun season around here, I use a Bushnell Elite 3200, 3-9 x 40, with Firlefly reticle (love that thing come sunrise and sundown) and fixed objective. The 4200 has an adjustable objective, but I didn't feel I needed that -- I'm not sniping varmints out at 400 yards.

For muzzleloading season, I switch to a Millet Redot with 1-inch tube, so I can use quick detach 1-inch rings. (Don't get me started about how utterly stupid my State is to not allow powered optics for muzzleloader season!)

The Maxima quick detach rings are guaranteed to keep zero, and I haven't had a problem with them wandering. Although I would not have bought them if Wisconsin didn't force me to switch optics, they really come in handy at clean up time.

The 3200 can be a little pricey, but if you shop around you should be able to find it under $200. The optics on the Elites are exceptional. Very clear picture and good field of view. They have a great anti-fog coating and the fast-focus really works, at least for me.
So I only get one shot. How many do you need?

When on the range with others, the polite muzzleloader shooter should always ask, `Mind if I smoke?`

I have the Warne/Maxima base and medium height rings with a Leupold VXIII 1.5-5 on my Omega carbine.  It works great for me.

I got the talley one piece (base and rings) from Midsouth for about $40.  The Talley's rings clamp down tight!  I have a Leupold Vari-X II 2X7 and had the power adjustment ring to close to the scope ring.  The power adjustment was hard to turn.  I moved the scope and have had no further problems, the Tally set up is nice and strong.  I really like the 2X7 33mm scopes.  Enough power for long shot, quick target acquisition at 2X and the 33mm bell can be mounted nice and low.

You should check out the new Nikon Omega scope.  T/C and Nikon developed a scope specifically for the Omega M/L.  It is zeroed in at ranges of 100,150,200 and 250yds this along with Maxima base and rings...you won't go wrong.
